THANE: Two police officers from Thane police commissionerate, who were tested positive for Covid-19, recovered after receiving treatment and were discharged from the hospital on Thursday.

Their colleagues gave them a warm welcome outside the hospital.

Two other police officers and four constables tested positive, one of them was the police inspector posted at Mumbra police station, said a senior police officer. He added that 48 other cops have been quarantined.

An assistant police inspector, from Thane nagar police, was also discharged with a warm welcome. The officer said, “I had asymptomatic coronavirus and I was initially tensed as few of my other colleagues were tested positive. So I was little apprehensive about it. "

The officer said that it was due to his strong immunity that he survived and appreciated the support from the commissioner of police and his fellow workers.

He said, "There is no reason to be scared. Presently, people are very scared about corona and think that once they are infected with Covid-19 everything will be over for them. But I would like to share that by following a proper medical procedure it can be cured. All they have to do is take the preventive measures."

The other assistant inspector who was discharged shared, “ It was little scary as everyday the same thing was to be heard from every corner. I had few symptoms, but somehow I managed to overcome this by reading books, talking to some close friends and video calls with family members." He added, "I feel no one should go though this. So, avoid getting infected to Covid-19 and stay home.”
