Thane Gets New Mayor and Deputy Mayor; City to See Four Mayors in Five Years

Sharmila Gaikwad Pimpalkar of the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), elected from the Kopri–Thane East area, has been elected as the Mayor of Thane, while Krishna Patil of the BJP from Uthalsar has taken charge as the Deputy Mayor of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).

Both the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor will hold office for a tenure of only 15 months, after which another set of representatives will be appointed. As a result, Thane is set to witness four different Mayors over the next five years.
