Moisturising
your Skin - Basic Facts
The
right step after deep cleansing is moisturizing your
body. Now, it may be repeated thatthe outer layer
of the skin is dead. Keep this in mind because you
will understand better, the steps to good skin care.
Skin
and Moisture
The outer layer of the skin often appears to be dry,
especially after cleansing. Some peopleexperience
dryness throughout the year. The face and the hands
are the most exposed parts of the body - we never
cover them - unless of course you are in a veil, or
you cover your face for most of the time. The new
cells, which are produced at the bottom of the epidermis,
are plump and moist with water but by the time they
complete their journey to the upper layer of the skin,
they are flat and dehydrated and practically water
free. Only water, once again will rejuvenate them.
Why
do you need to moisturise your skin?
The skin secretes oils, whic
h
form a barrier to prevent water evaporation, but these
oils are removed during the cleansing process. Also
these oils are mixed with other harmful substances
on account of exposure to pollution. After Cleansing
or having a bath, the body is deviod of this protective
layer of oil. Some new protective layer needs to replace
the body's own. Although the body naturally replaces
this protective layer- much needed moisture is possibly
be lost in the meantime.

A
large variety of moisturisers are available in the
market today. Even though you may have to spend a
little extra, it is always to buy a brand that is
manufactured by a reputed company.
Last,
but not the least.
Water is the best moisturiser that nature has made.
As it is important to replinish external moisture,
it is equally important to moisten your body internally.
Thus make sure that you have your daily quota of 8
to 10 glasses of water, everyday. Otherwise all the
moisturisers in the world are not going to make a
difference.
