Facts on Cleansing

Probably as many hypotheses for skin care exist as supposed cures for the common cold, and most are just as suspect. But one fact is undeniable. Constantly exposed faces require much or more assistance. The care you put in now will help you to maintain and enhance and soften the harsh growing years toll on your skin. So good grooming begins now!
Most importantly, your skin should look vital and alive. Ironically the cells that comprise the skin’s surface are dead. Even if you are young your skin can look coarse, dead, thickened, porous, oily and pigmented.

'Cleansing' will be an integral part of your skin care routine-and this should be a part of your whole life style.

Skin, especially facial skin, comes under the influences of geography, season, age and general health plus personal care. This care is part of preventive measure simply ensuring the deterioration later.

Various forms of cleansers are available:
1) Soap
2) Cream
3) Liquid
4) Lotion

Whatever is the type the cleanser should help to remove as much dirt and oil from the skin as possible without irritating it. Ideally a cleanser should also be completely removable, either with water or another means not too difficult or time consuming.

Soap and water is the best cleansing for young skin. An antibacterial soap popularly known as deodorant soaps should be good for body odours. As far as the face is concerned, use a mild soap which does not have lot of additives like chemical fragrances, or fruit soaps with essence of compounds dubious for cleansing.

Things to remember
1) Clean your face for a minimum of three times a day.

2) Plain soap and water will do. But if you play sports, travel a lot, or drive two wheelers or put make up...then deep cleansing is a must.

3) For optimum results, the face should first be thoroughly wetted with warm water.

4) After cleansing with cream or lotion please rinse the face so no residue remains.

5) If you use soap, it should be lathered on the palms and rubbed onto the damp face with fingertips.
