What
n when to wear.. Get those heads turning
You
may have wondered many a times that whether am i looking
good in these clothes, accessories, etc ....or have
i over dressed or something. This happens with many
people , reason is simple enough, we are too casual
in our approach towards dressing up for a particular
look . Talking of looks it can be formal look, evening
look, casual look, etc etc...
Some
people seem to have that perfect look, they seem to
get everything right at all times. The benefits of
being that perfect dresser are immense, not only does
one get compliments but has a far better social circle,
of course you need to have a good personality to back
it by intelligent dressing.
Dressing
for that perfect look is not difficult just a bit
of creativity,
some common sense that's it.
Some
most encountered occasions in one's life
| On
Weekends/Movies/ Just hanging out |
Here's what you can wear. (men & women)
-
Loose
jeans (comfy types), twin pocket shirts half
sleeved or long sleeved as per your liking. T-shirts
are definitely in, but please avoid wearing black
in daytime at least till winter sets in.
-
Teddys are hot favorite for today's youth
and they're real cool as you can mix n match your
tops T-shirts with them also they can be worn with
a variety of combinations.
- As monsoon season is presently on, avoid wearing
lighter shades especially trousers. cotton shirts
and pants are more apt for this season they dry
faster than other materials.
-
Try this combo dressing wear camouflaged
T-shirts with jeans or cargos and thick soled shoes.
-
Tight
skin jeans are out so avoid that uneasy look.
If
you are with your date (for men)
You would rather want to look more mature than kiddish
at the same time do not want that office going look.
Our suggestion, wear a cotton trouser (flat fronts)
a collared T-shirt (plain color) a semi formal shoe.
Twin pocket shirts half sleeved with a pair of jeans
or a trouser looks good. (alternative ..... Medium
to large check shirt)
If
you are dressing up for your Date (for Women)
You can wear a flat front trouser or a skirt with
an embroidered top. If you're the more casual sort
go in for a Denim pair with a beige colored shirt
or a sleeveless top. For the traditional you could
wear those parallel suits they look really chic and
are easy and convenient to carry.
Here's what you can wear. (for
men)
-
Flat
front trousers with a contrast shirt (usually loose
fit, not formal types with buttoned collars).
-
Shoes (thick soled shoes, sports well they better
be left for jogging etc....suede boots with jeans
look good.
-
In winters a skiwi with a leather jacket or a tweed
coat worn with plain trousers or a small check trousers
gives you that desired look. Silk shirts worn with
trousers also give you that real party look. Try
experimenting with designer blazers which sport
a shirt like collar are usually light and not heavy
like the regular blazers or suits. Being light in
texture they give you that comfortable feel.
-
Women could try experimenting with trousers and
shirts or a top worn in combination with lachas
(long flowing skirt) other wise jeans and a semi
formal jacket (worn over a skiwi) shiny tops, wear
stilettos (3 to 5 inches of heel). Halter necks,
Cocktail dress, a white shirt blouse (can be paired
up with anything) etc.
| Corporate
functions or parties |
Seasonality factor's consideration is what you should
always consider before choosing to wear or buy any
apparel whether casual, formal, ethnic etc.
-
It would be safe to wear a suit for the occasion
where there's who's who of your business community
or trade and half the people would just notice what
each other is wearing what their wives are wearing,
so importance of being well dressed is again reinstated
here.
-
Since your appearance decides whether people feel
attracted towards you or vice versa, make sure that
your suit is dry cleaned and free of every possible
stain or dust.
-
Do make sure that you don't over dress as this might
make you look like the odd man out. Wear a sober
tie, preferably in plain color silk or small prints
would do. Cologne or splash on should have a mild
smell or spicy smell not on the strong side (unless
you have a genuine body odor problem). Perfumes
(men) you could opt for Burberrys, kouros, gucci
envy, calvin klein range, hugo boss, tommy etc....
-
Women could opt for business suits, evening gown,
a sari (silk, georgette) etc
As far as combinations go there's no written rule
the golden rule however is to wear what you are
comfortable in but you can always try a few variations
as then only you can call your self a trend setter,
new trends start this way. Perfume choice may include
C&K, D&G, Dolce vita, Gucci, Carolina Herrera,
Cassini
| While
Traveling, Beach fun, Mountaineering |
For beach fun- (men & women)
-
Undoubtedly
a good pair of shorts (go for cargos they're practical
in every sense). Khaki shades, floral prints, checks
any possible design is justified here so go buy
them and let the fun begin. A bottle of sunscreen,
and cooling shades (uv-guard), some fresh ones (wet
tissues) etc.
-
Shoes won't make sense here it would be wise to
carry sturdy and comfortable sandals or slippers
preferably foam or rubber no pvc or leather please.
-
You can also take along a fisherman's hat they look
funky and don't give you a test match look.
-
Wear light colored clothing , especially upper wear
half sleeved shirts, yes they're back and they offer
optimum style and comfort. T-shirts are always in
you could wear just about any type here. Women could
go for wraparounds (floral printed) with a light
colored top
| Mountain
vacations -(men & women) |
-
Good
hiking boots (not new or don't buy and wear them
instantaneously on the trip ),wear at least a
month old shoe so that it's interiors are softened
by the time you take it on the trip and it doesn't
bite .
-
As mountain air is cool and you can wear a hunting
jacket which have those really big pockets, which
you can utilize by stuffing just about anything.
They look real classy and give that rough feel being
on the edge
-
Denim jeans will provide you comfort as well as
warmth well so much for practicality. Jeans are
rugged so if you have trekking, camping, horse riding,
you bet you wont get a better fabric to withstand
the exertion and the punishment a fabric gets.
-
Men can opt for Long overall coat especially for
that evening after dinner stroll with someone special!
these look good on all especially on tall guys.
A
good cashmere pullover , an all weather jacket (rain,
wind proof), leather is good too but if you choose
a time when the rains are unpredictable you could
ruin your expensive jacket.
Some people have this uncontrollable urge to go visiting
hill stations during peak winters, take along long
johns, for that extra insulation it provides)
Heavy
natural leathers are ideal winter wear. The vegetable
tanned country and the oil tanned ranch leathers are
especially popular. The look you get is sophisticated,
casual and up market.
| Traveling
- (men & women) |
-
When
traveling by train, car, bus, the golden rule
is that wear something that is loose and comfortable.
If you even decide to wear denims which normally
most of us wear while traveling, wear comfort
fits and not those really tight fits.
-
While traveling by air , wear semi formals especially
if you travel to west as many a times there's this
possibility of being offloaded by the airline even
if you have a confirmed ticket so much for yield
management which they have, anyway the point here
is that when there are seats vacated and at the
last moment they want to give you seats to people
decently dressed especially if they are giving a
free upgrade to business class.
Wear a cotton trouser a light fabric blazer (coat)
you do not really have to wear a tie inside a plane.
-
When on overseas trips take care to read the travel
brochures handed out by airlines or travel agents
which explain various dress code in different stores,
shopping malls, restaurants etc. as some of these
mentioned venues do not allow casually dressed people
in their premises. So it's always better to be informed.
-
Pyjamas, loose fitting night shirts, shorts (preferably
non elastic), cotton t-shirts. Avoid wearing jeans
while going to sleep at night by changing into loose
clothes you will definitely get a peaceful sleep.
Men love their woman in a sexy outfit so go for designer
nighties, satin finished ones, best is to ask your
husband which one he prefers.
For those married here's a little tip get your wife
or husband to buy you your night wear, your spouse'll
love you wearing their choice.
If
possible avoid tight elastic shorts wear shorts with
chords instead. If you want to be a bit more creative,
select a cloth piece from any good shop in your city
which have stars or tiny moon prints, florals, checks
... which you get tailored into shorts pajamas, night
shirts etc...
