Medical
Standards
The
IAF expects you to be generally free from all
communicable diseases. There should be no medical
or surgical deformity. You should not have any
history of fits, psychiatric ailment or any
serious sickness. The minimum acceptable height
is 152:5 cms. Expanded chest of 75 cms. or above
and range of expansion should be minimum 5 cms.
Weight should be corresponding to height and
age. Hearing should be normal. There are various
visual standards for different trades. However
minimum acceptable is aided vision of at least
6/12 each eye or 6/6 in one eye and 6/36 in
the other eye. Myopia not exceeding 7 Dioptres
in any meridian. Good set of teeth.
Selection
Procedure
In
response to the advertisement, send in your
application to the President, Central Airmen
Selection Board, Post Box-3004, New Delhi -
110003.
Eligible candidates will be tested in Maths,
Science, English and Intelligence & General
Awareness for teh technical stream and in English
and in English and Intelligence & General
awareness for the non-technical streams. All
papers will be objective type and results will
be declared the same day. Successful candidates
will be medically examined on the following
working day. Medically fit candidates will be
placed in an All India Merit List and enrolled
in the IAF subject to availability of vacancies.
Pay
Scales
During
Training:
a) For trades other than Musician : 2850/- pm.
b) For Musician trade: 2650 / -pm
After
completion of training the recruits will be
paid with retropective effect an amount equal
to the minimum of the scale of the trade to
which they stand allotted less stipend already
paid.
