Introduction
...
These
round beveled buttons are versatile and easy to make.
You
need is Photoshop4 or later and this tutorial, and about
10 minutes.
Lets get started...
1.
Create a new file RGB 100X100 pixels
2.
With the elliptical marquee tool, make a round selection.
Be careful not to make it too big, or it will touch
the edge of the file and be distorted. ( as shown in
figure )
3.
set the background color to the color you want the button
to be. This button looks best if made with Dark colors.
4.
Press delete. This will fill the circle with your background
color.
5.
Save the selection as a new channel (you can do this
by clicking the 'save selection as new channel' button
on the channels pallet, or by clicking select/Save selection
/new channel ). this will be channel 4.

6.
Click Select/modify/contract 6 pixels...and save this
as new channel this will be channel 5
7.
Load channel 4 by clicking on it while holding command/ctrl.
The whole green circle is once again selected.

Click Filter/Render/Lighting effects..try the settings
shown in the illustration..(You may have to tweak the
lighting effects to get it to look like a sphere, this
is the desired result of this lighting effect)
