Please tell us something about yourself?
I Fr Andrew.A Mukadom, am a priest of the Archdiosceses of Mumai with a BEd degree in Psychology. I have served as Principal in various Mumbai schools for the last sixteen years. St. Joseph's High School in Kandivalli, St Blaise High School Amboli, Andheri, Sacred Hearts School, Navi Mumbai are some of the schools I headed.

I have always wanted to teach and share knowledge with the youth. Teaching requires great patience, as young people are invariably curious to a fault. But their thirst for knowledge with the youth. But their thirst for knowledge has to be quenched, and it is with this belief that I work each day- as the teacher and principal.

Since when have you been associated with this institution?
I have been at St John's since June 2000.

What are the different courses offered by your institutions?
The St John's Institution comprises of Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and Junior College. We also have a school for children in need of special care. The Junior College has faculties: Commerce and Science.

What are the criteria for selecting candidates for enrolling in your institute?
Selection for enrolling candidates is done at 3 levels:

• Pre-Primary-For admission into the Pre-Primary, students must be
  three and a half years old. Christian minority is given preference, As for availability of seats, "neighbourhood" is given preference.
  
  
• High School-The High School admission are carried out as per the regulations laid down by the education dept.
• Junior College- The Junior College admission is carried out as per the regulation laid down by the education dept.

How is your institute different from other institutions?
Firstly St John the Baptist High School is one of the oldest educational institution in Thane. It dates back to 1905. The institution has always laid geat importance to all- round education and discipline. We continue to believe that without discipline,no amount of knowledge is of any use. We also have one of the best-equipped libraries in Thane. We are ahead in Information Technology as well, with a well-equipped and well-staffed computer section. Over 40 PCs give students every opportunity to stay in touch with every opportunity to stay in touch with technology and digital knowledge.

How do the courses offered by your institution help students build a successful career?
We are constantly monitoring feedback and we keep abreast with industry needs. This allows us to modify and sculpt and adapt our courses to prepare the students to meet the demands in the real world.

Any message for Thaneites?
Learning never ends with schools and college. Learning is a lifelong process, because if you are not advancing you are regressing.
