us something about yourself?
My name is Sandeep Bapu Kadam .I am a practising Newborn
& Chid Specialist since past 13 years. I have completed
my MBBS, DCH, MD(Paed), from Grant Medical College &
Sir J.J. group of Hospitals, Mumbai.
Since
when have you been associated with this Club?
I am happy to be associated with this 96 year old
International organisation since 29th April 1996. I
am the 10th President of this vibrant club.
What
have been your acheivements of your Club since its inception?
Adoption and continuing service to the tribal village
of Pankhanda, Matching Grants for girl orphanage"Ma
Niketan" from Germany, Vocational Training for
tribals in co-operation with State Tribal Commissioner,
Sponsoring and Hosting of IYE Students, Health Checkup
camps for weaker section, Drishtipath 1998, Pulse Polio
Immunization program etc are some of our acheivements.
What
is your motto/aim during your Tenure as the President
of the Club?
To make Rotary visible to the community, to under take
Health Awareness Programmes & to strengthen the
club membership & fellowship. During Rotary year
2001-2002 many innovative and mega projects are planned.
To
name few: Divyadrishti 2001(RYLA) for visually impaired,
a Healthy Baby Contest, Projects on AIDS Awareness,
Projects on Drug Abuse & 'No Tobacco', Pulse Polio
Program, Aptitude Test and Carreer Guidance , Rangoli
Contest, School Adoption, Contest among Housing Societies
of Thane for Ideal Society are some of my projects during
my tenure.
How
do you demarcate your duties as a professional &
a Rotarian?
As a professional, patients come to my clinic for health
check up and advice but as a Rotarian, I go to the needy
underprivilaged community to serve them through my vocation
. We Rotarians believe in 'Commitments made &Commitments
kept' because mankind is our business.
How
far has your Club reached in its objective?
I am happy to shoulder the responsibility as a President
of this Club. Whatever projects planned for this Rotary
year are getting executed successfully.
Any message to Thaneites?
I appeal to all Thaneites to realise the responsibility
of each individual citizen to make Thane a Clean &
Green city and a better place to live in. As a President,
I assure you that Rotary Club of Thane North End will
be always with all the Thaneites for such a noble cause.
