Tell us something about yourself?
I had a flair for Arts right my childhood. Rather than taking up the conventional route of Graduation, I switched over J.J. School of Arts. After becoming an "Interior Designer", I widened my horizons by learning Ceramics and Potteries. Realizing my love for Metal Crafts I decided to take up a small course in it to learn it in depth.

I have married a person who is equally interested in this field. My husband Mr. Sudhakar Patil has specialised in Commercial Advertising and Interior Designing. We have our own business and we undertake jobs in Interior Designing.

Since how many years have you been in this field of Art?
I have been in this field since 1979. Initially, I was working with the Architects. Two years of teaching at J.J.School of Arts gave me more perfection and experience. Later on, we handled all consultancy jobs of Karan Grover & Associates, a leading Architectural firm.

What are the career prospects in this field ?
We intend in innovative changes and give a lift to our profession. For this we plan to use AutoCAD in our Interior Designing. Working on various themes, landscaping are some of our future strategies.

Any Special qualities required to make a career in this field according to you?
One has to be pragmatic as well as well informed in this profession as tastes of the people are ever changing. to suit to the demands and the pockets of the clients, one has to have a professional but human approach. Being abreast of time is the key word in this career.

What is your contribution in this field?
Following are some of our accomplishments during the past two decades. ITC Group, United Phosphorous Ltd., Sanghvi Exports, Marico, Gandha Sugandha, P.R. & Sons Office and Residence, Expo India, Castrol Ltd.

What have been your acheivement in this field?
Good work speaks volumes. Eg:We have been highly apprecoated for our showroom layout, GM of VSNL appreciated for our work of interior decoration done at his residece. Interior Designing and execution of the office and residence of a Perfume industialist added a feather to our cap.

Whats your aim in life?
To be an innovative and a successful interior designer is the prime priority of our life.
