us something about yourself?
I have a SSI unit manufacturing Speciality Process a nd
water Treatment Chemicals at MIDC Taloja. I am a Science
graduate and also a Management student.
I am married to Netra who works for United India Insurance
Company and have two daughters Namrata aged 11 and Rutuja
aged 5.
Since
when have you been associated with this Club?
I joined the club in August 1998.
What have been the achievements of your Club since
its inceptions?
The single most achievement of our club is the Employment
Exchange Bureau for unemployed youths. Till date about
8,000 candidates have registered and we have provided
jobs for over 800 unemployed youths.
Apart
from jobs, we also encourage candidates to start their
own business and assistance is provided to the youths
to achieve their goals.
The
above project is first of its kind in India and is also
internationally acclaimed. At present 8 Rotary clubs
in District 3140 under the guidance of our club have
started functioning.
What
is your motto/aim during your Tenure as the President
of the Club?
Motto is to spread Rotary Aims to the general citizens
in Thane and in particular to Kalwe Area.
Also
my focus is membership development. More the members
more helping hands, more funds and hence more projects.
How
do you demarcates your duties as a professional &
Rotarian?
Well they are supplementary to each other. Rotary projects
and activities help me to be energetic, fresh and innovative
in my professional work.
How far your club has reached in its objectives?
Apart from Employment Exchange Bureau, we have number
of other ongoing projects like ---
Adult
Women Literacy Programme - about 50 women can read and
write. The programme is still going on and more women
are being taught to read and write.
RCC:
We have adopted a slum areea in Kalwa East - Samrat
Ashok Nagar. We have conducted lots of camps like eye
check ups, provided Slumber kits for need students for
the last 10 years. Recently we have provided them Computers
to enable youths and children from the slum to get exposed
to the new technology.
Any
message to Thaneites?
No work is small. If each one of us do a small bit to
help under privilege section of our society, I am sure
the world would be more happy place to live.
