Tell us something about yourself?
I am 60 years old .I passed B.com. In 1962 from Pune. I completed C.A. (chartered accountant) in 1966 in Mumbai. I am in practice since last 36 years. I was born & brought Up in Girgaun. I was a part time professor in MCC in 1970-1980. Last 7 years I was taking paper- I (financial accounting).

My wife Sunita Kelkar was in Kelkar TT (table tennis) institute coaching in table tennis. My daughter Sharmila Kelkar is B.com .She has won Chatrrapati award in TT. My son Shailesh Kelkar is B.Com., L.L.B, CS &
Helping me in my profession.

Since when have you been associated with this club?
I joined in 1988. I am in the Board of Directors of the club. In this year from 2001-2002 which is the Silver Jubilee year of our club I have become the President.

What have been your achievements of your club since its inception?
Widely recognized in the District. Our club is 100% for last 6 years each & every members attends each meeting. We are identified by a project called Wall painting like the New English school wall. This year it is Laxman Nagar near Aradhana. This is a unique project of our club. This is second quality.

ROCHAS (Rotary Chess Tournament) Polio Corrective Surgery-we take the funds from international club & pay in, our own fund too & treat polio patients free of charge right from the check up which is done in Singhania or Lok hospital till his discharge.

What is your motto/aim during your duties as a professional & a Rotarian?
By practicing from last 15 years I am very much experienced in my field of C.A. Secondly my staff is also very good. Fortunately in my profession I can do lot's of work sitting at home also. Two hours strictly in the morning I am working for Rotary daily.

I would like to spend 24 hours also if some urgency will come. It is not with me but also with every member of our club. That's why they have made me president.

How far your club has reached in its objectives?
Frankly speaking we are having on going project, which are having almost ongoing project which has no limits it go on continuing. Very recently we have started a new project called 'Beautification' of Thane Crematorium estimate cost is 40lks. But it is being work out. It is very big project this is what I have done for this year.

Any message for Thaneites?
Every one should love this Thane city and must do something for the Thane city .Try to make the city very clean.
