How did the Idea of forming an Association of Estate Agents come to mind and whose idea was it?
It was a mere co-incidence of like minded people gathering at one place where the topic of problems faced by us in the Real Estate division was being discussed and then and there itself the organising team of we 6 was formed which included Mr. Veeru Rawat and Mr Singh of Krishna Housing, Mr. Modi of Jay Associates, Mr. Rajesh Shah , Mr. Chetan Kamdar of Shreeji Consultants, Mr Jayesh Pancholi of JP Associates and myself from Home Today did the rest.

What was the first step in that direction?
A grand meeting was held and almost all the Real Estate Consultants were called in to attend it at Woodland Retreat on the 8th of September 2000.

What was the Response?
Oh great! Tremendous and overwhelming response. We had about 105 Professionals coming in for the meeting.

Who conducted the meeting?
Mr. Sanjeev Modi was nominated the chairman and myself the Secretary.

What was the main objective behind the meeting?
It was to unite all the Real Estate Consultants of Thane and discuss the problems being faced in the relative field. An open house was conducted in that regard.

Can you just enumerate some?
The Registration Act, the non satisfied customers due to delay in projects by builders, the non provision of efficient infrastructure, etc.

On what basis were the office bearers elected?
The office bearers were elected amongst the people attending the meeting by the people who attended the meeting. It was like an open elections being held.

Was the Idea of TEAA inspired by any other organisation?
Well there is no other organisation for estate agents in Thane but we can't deny that the idea is inspired by the Estate Agents Association of INdia which works on All India level.

Any plans to mearge with them?
Yes, we do have the intentions of mearging with them and havealso invited some of their members at one of our meetings.

How frequently do the members have a meeting?
Once a week we do have meetings at Grace Consultants on Tuesdays at 7 pm.

Any future plans for development of the profession?
Yes I do believe that every individual in the field should make a rather professional repute and work in an organised manner. Besides bringing in the institutional system is of utmost importance.

Any message to other professionals?
Believe in the fact that hardwaork honesty and professional outlook always pays rich dividend. Let service be the motto and keep your customers happy and tension free.
