Tell us something about Yourself?
I am M.Sc, Ph D from Mumbai University. I was teaching in R.D. National college (Bandra) for some time before joining my family business of Traveling Requisites. I am recipient of 'Four avenues of Service' citation from R.I.

Since when have you been associated with Rotary Club?
I am charter member of Rotary club of Thane Central Since its inception in Dec. 1993.

What have been the achievements of your Club since its inception?
We are regularly carrying out Medical Camps for Adivasi children in the backwards of Thane Raigad. We actively participate in Polio Plus immunization program. We carry on many such projects, which benefits under privileged and downtrodden. We have adopted Municipal school No. 19 in Thane. We provide them sports material, teach them different games & see that the percentage of chop out students.

What is your motto / aim during your tenure as the President of the Club?
'Spread Happiness' is my motto during this year to enable the entire member to experience the happiness of serving the community and making friends.

You being a doctor by profession, how do you demarcate your responsibilities as a Rotarian as well as a doctor?
Iam not a doctor by profession. I deal in Molded Luggage. But I enjoy Rotary because; to serve the community is Rotary's business. To work for under privileged & downtrodden is our business. It is Rotary's business to improve the quality of life of each one in our community.

How far your club has reached in its objective?
We, every year, manage to reach the objective set by the respective President. We want to make world a better place to live because Mankind is our business. This year, our objective is to carry out a minimum of 30 cataract surgeries for the people who are poor and cannot afford.

Any message to Thaneites?
Thane has received the 'Best Clean City Award'. I request all Thaneites to keep the city clean & beautiful by co-operating with TMC. Clean and healthy surrounding helps spread happiness. Remember - every new day is the first day out our remaining part of life. Let us make it charming, beautiful & learn to enjoy our life. Let there be peace and harmony. Be happy today be smiling today and always remain so. Let everyone be happy because Mankind is the Business of Rotary.
