How did you enter the field of Arts?
After taking a diploma from J.J. Institute of Applied Art, I tried my hand at doing freelance work in commercial art, but in the meanwhile I developed a new and unique technique called Applique Art in veneers and metal for doing decorative murals in various interiors.

What is POONAM DESIGNS all about & how did it came into existence?
Poonam Designs creates wonders in murals with veneers and a touch of metal at times in a technique called APPLIQUE ART.

I took part in some exhibitions so that the Interior Designers would see my work and since I found my work getting good appreciation, I took the plunge professionally under the name "POONAM DESIGNS".

I started by setting up a small workshop outside my bunglow by putting over the compound space and began with two machines. And for the last ten years, I have not had to look back.

I have mastered this art to such an extent and also displayed my murals in a lo of public places that my work today is in great demand.

What is the major work done by POONAM DESIGNS?
I shall put below a few of many places which display my pieces:-

1) Hotel Pritam, Khodadad Circle, Dadar (E)
2) Golden Gate Hotel, madam Cama Road, Near Regal Cinema
3) Hotel Golden Grass, Padagha Village, on the way to Igatpuri by road.
4) Sardar Tara Singh's (M.L.A - Bhandup, Mulund) marriage hall: Sona Darbar - Bhandup.

How far you are satisfied with your work done by POONAM DESIGNS?
So far, truly speaking, I have never been fully satisfied with my work.I keep exploring, experimenting and changing with different materialss. With every job I feel I can be still better.

What has been the major achievements of you as a key person at POONAM DESIGNS?
As a key person at POONAM DESIGNS, from just small and simple jobs, I am today able to take up bigger projects with reputable designers. My confidence to expand further into newer fields has increased.

What are the future plans?
I would like to expand as much as possible by holding exhibitions here and even in countries outside India.

What do you think is the best, to the people and fresherinterested in this type of field?
I would like to say that there is no shortcut to success. Don't just choose this field because it brings money.Specialize in any sphere you like. If you have dedication, talent & the right spirit, then there's no looking back.
