Since how many years you are in the field of education?
I am in this field since 28 years. I studied in this school, and then became a teacher here and now I can proudly say that I am the first lady principal of my school.

Tell us something about your School?
Bedekar Vidya Mandir is located at Naupada, Thane (W). It has strength of about 2000 students and staff strength of 60 including teaching and non-teaching staff.

How far has the school reached since its foundation was laid?
The school started functioning in 1935 as a primary school under the administration of Vidya Prasarak Mandal. In 1958 the school was named as Dr. Bedekar Vidya Mandir. In the beginning the school was housed in a small building with 135 students. Over the years, under the able guidance of the Vidya Prasarak Mandal it has gone from strength to strength. Now housed in a magnificent four-stored building. We have bright airy classroom, a well equipped science laboratory, a computer laboratory, as excellent library with over 10,000 books an art hall, a play ground and above all an experienced and dedicated staff.

How do you rate the education system of Thane?
I must say that the children of this town are really lucky in that respect; Thane has a very evolved and organized educational system. There are many schools including ours, which offers education upto tenth standard of a high standard. Our parent institution the Vidya Prasark Mandal runs the popular Thane College at Chendani Which offers graduations in arts Commerce and science, a polytechnic, management courses and an evening law college. Thane has been blessed with a Medical college, which was started a few years back.

What is your school's contribution towards the same?
Every one will agree that we spend our formative years in School. At Bedekar Vidya Mandir we encourage our students to strive for Academic excellence, this education serves as a stepping-stone for them to achieve higher laurels. We also try to inculcate values in their young minds so that tomorrow they will form better citizens of a better society. Testimony of this fact is the high number of students of our school who have made a name for themselves in various fields like medicine, education, engineering, science and technology, literature, theatre and even sports at National level.

What is the future plan of the school?
To continue imparting the best possible education to our students.
