Tell us something about Yourself?
Namaste ! I am Mrs. Sharmila Sreenath born and brought up in beautiful City Thane. I teach craft to children between age group of 6 to 14 years. I started Sri Krsna Academy of Fine Art keeping in mind to give all type of Art Courses under one roof.

How did the idea of starting this Home classes come into your mind?
Basically I started craft classes at home because few of my friends asked me to start classes for their children as they knew about the articles I used to make. So that was a start. After that I advertised for Summer Vacation Classes. There was a tremendous response and success. Children and Parents are both happy as they got satisfaction and returns for their money.

What was the first step in this direction?
I decided to give the potential, which I have, to the children of Thane. So I thought of a area Khopat where there is no such class and the area is accessible to almost thaneities who really wants the best for them and their children.

How was the response to the same?
In those years I came in contact with the people who were doing best in their fields and are well known personalities in their respective fields like Bharatnatyam, Music, Vocal, Drawing, Handicrafts and so on. As we developed friendship over the period of time I asked them if they join the venture, which I wish to start, and I got positive response from them with the grace of God.
The Academy came into existence on the Gudi Padwa day in Year 2000. Now It's almost one year and response is very good.

What do you think is your achievement with training as your profession?
The achievement is happiness, which you can see in their eyes when they get satisfied with that they are learning. We have very nice friendly atmosphere in our class so they feel at home. Especially Parents tell us "From where they get the energy to get up and go to the class in a very happy mood" Isn't this an achievement? For us satisfaction of the children and their parents is a primary criteria.

How are you able to create a proper balance in your family and profession?
It's really difficult to maintain balance between family and profession but then I got very understanding people at home who support me. There is also support of my Parents as they also live in Thane. And above all I have support of almighty God Sri Krishna in whose name is the Academy.

What is your future plans?
In future we are likely to introduce few more art courses like tabla, Mridungam and so on. Future plan are like academy programmes where every child/ student will be provided a platform to show their talents. We wish that there should be futures great artists and good human beings from our academy.

Message to your fellow Thaneities?
For Thaneities there is a special message. Keep our Beautiful City Clean. Think Positive. Education has no age boundries. Remember God daily and not only when you are in trouble. He is always with us. Hare Krishna!
