Q. Tell us something about yourself?
A.
I did B.A. in Philosophy, Psychology & Sanskrit from University of Pune.
I have given 'Madhyama' examination in Classical Music from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.

Q. How did you come in this field of acting ?
A. In my college days I did acting in 4-5 dramas. Then I realized my interest in acting. And I was not interested in doing job in Bank or somewhere else.Then I did Diploma in Acting (3 years course) from National School of Drama (NSD) under Mr. E.Alkazi and I started my career in 1972.

Q.Tell us something about some of your famous dramas, movies and serials?
A. I have participated in lots of dramas. The famous ones are 'Gharoghari', 'Doctor tumhi suddha', 'Natsamrat', 'Agnipankh', 'Ekach Pyala', 'Kanyadan', 'Sakkheshejari', 'Barrister', Anandi Gopal', 'Prema tuza ranga kasa'. I have done many Hindi and Marathi movies out of which I liked my role in the Marathi movie 'Tu Thithe me'. My current serials are 'Kimayagar' on E TV, 'Ek dhaga sukhacha', 'Runanubandha' (Marathi), 'Dhadkan' (Hindi) on Sony. There is a new marathi serial 'Sanj savlya' which will be airing from 19th August.Other than these I have acted in many hindi movies like ' Papa kehte hai, Aag, Aatank hi Aatank, Chandani, Daddy, Josh, Tezab and many more.

Q. How satisfied are you in your acting career?
A. I am completely satisfied about my roles and love acting in dramas. But I am not fully satisfied with my roles in films except "Tu tithe me" as I did not got any challenging role in serials or films.

Q. What message would you like to give a newcomer in this field?

A. Acting is not simple as seen in the movies, it needs lots of hardwork and talent. You are a learner in every pace of your life and will get to learn more and more from all the places you go and from all the people you meet. Acting in one or two movies doesn't make you a perfect actress but every movie or play teaches you something new and this process will go on till the end. In short I would say ' The well gets deeper and deeper as you go on digging it'.

Q. Tell us something about your achievement?
A. I got the best actress award for Marathi feature film 'Tu tithe me' from Filmfare, Screen Videocon and Maharashtra Government. Ch. Shahu Maharaj award from Marathi Natya Parishad for contribution to the theatre. I got best actress award from Natyadarpan in 1983, 1977 and 1975.

Q. Besides acting what are your other hobbies?
A. I train some young boys and girls at Gadkari Rangayatan for dramatic courses. I am also an active participant in Enviro Vision- Environment friendly project.Other than this I also conduct some coaching on acting for children in some educational institutes if they ask for it.

Q. Any message to the people of Thane?
A. Thane city has lost its cleanliness for which It had own an award. Every person from Thane should contribute for keeping the city clean. One should throw unwanted things in dustbin only and should not blame the municipal corporation for keeping the place untidy.
