Q. Tell us something about yourself ?
A. I have 7 years of invaluable experience of interacting with some of India's best money managers and investors and have been helping my clients to invest their long-term savings in shares of India's best companies for better returns instead of the conventional fixed income options. I am also a guest faculty at Symbiosis Pune for a course on Security Analysis & Portfolio Management for second year management students and wish to contribute more to make students and investors better informed.

Q. Tell us something about Investment Solutions and the services offered by it?
A.The firm is ably supported by an efficient back-office staff and reputed brokers who are transparent and give great service at low rates. Research associates are hired from time to time for specific company research projects in other cities across India.Investment Solutions offers a fee based advisory service based on fundamental company and industry research. This includes appraising various investment opportunities, valuing and choosing the stocks to invest in. Most of the investments recommended are with a 3-5 year time frame and trading is discouraged. Preferred sectors for investing are: pharmaceuticals, agro- chemicals, engineering and FMCG sectors.

Q. What advice would you give to a new comer?
A. A lot of commerce students get naturally drawn to the stock market to make great careers and greater fortunes. My advise is to start off as a research analyst at one of the reputed Indian broking firms and develop your instincts and financial 'fundas' across companies and industries in their respective cycles. There are no short cuts and no easy money here. Think for your self, be free of preconceived notions - the stock market will teach you more about yourself than anybody else will and you'll have a whale of a time on the way.

Q. What is Investment Solution's Future plans?
A. Investment Solutions aims to continue helping investors to build up their savings for long-term purposes like retirement or children's education, marriage etc. By continuous education, practice and discipline, we seek to fulfill our clients' financial objectives. With the help of fellow investors in Thane, we like to get reputed fund managers and brokers to share their experiences with all of us.

Q. Any message for Thaneites?
A. In the past 4-5 years, I've come across many Thaneites who have, post-VRS, lost money speculating in the stock markets or investing in some hare-brained multi level marketing scheme or in unknown exotic 'software', 'biotech', 'resort' or 'NBFC' companies. Please do not put your hard earned money in such ambiguous ventures. Take the time and effort to understand how your money will grow without loss.

SEBI and the stock exchanges are really making genuine efforts to educate and protect small investors; interact with them to know the laws behind any investment.
