us something about yourself ?
A. I am a performing Indian  Kathak
Dance Artist. I have done my Ph.D. in dance from Akhil
Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in 1989.
Q. Since when
have you been in this field?
A. I am in this field since 1965. I was performing
as a Kathak artist in National Centre for the Performing
Arts, Nariman Point.
Q.
Tell us about the achievements in this field?
A. I have received a number of prizes at the
national level. I was invited to perform a dance-recital
at Sangli, Pandharpur and Belgaum by the Government
of Maharashtra as a part of Nritya Mahotsava.
Q.
In your career who has been
your inspiration to give the best to this field?
A. My inspiration has always been my Gurus-
Pandit Gopi Krishna, Pandit Chaube Maharaj, Late Pandit
Lachhu Maharaj and Late Pandit Mohanrao Kalyanpurkar.
Q. What is your future
plans?
A. I would like to perform my dance all over
India and to present Kathak Dance, Ballet and other
Dance of India to different countries. I am planning
to introduce an Academy of dance, Music and Fine arts
at Thane with a view to promote the cause of Indian
Art.

What advice would you offer to a new comer entering
into this field?
A.
My advice to the new comers is to create awareness
and teach the new generation youngsters the great
Indian art, kathak dance and folk dance.

Any message to the Thaneites?
A. This
message is for our new generation youngsters to take
interest in learning the great art of dancing - Kathak.
