1. Tell us something about yourself.
Academically, I did management, post my degree in Mechanical Engineering. I have been in the field of Fire and safety since past 15 years. I worked with respected firms in India & abroad. It has always been my passion to contribute in making this world safer & secure.

2. Since how long have you been in Thane city?
I moved to Thane in year 1995. I witnessed all city changes during this tenure & now feel proud to be resident of this lake city with my family

3. What would be your inputs to improve infrastructure in Thane city? Is Thane safe with Fire and other calamities?
Thane city has grown very fast however infrastructure here did not support at its best. Mr. Chandrashekar , ex commissioner of Thane was the true change for Thane infra. This city needs the same pace & vision to make this ‘city with a difference”.

Though there is no major fire history here but there is a common concern on fire and safety due to lack of Fire compliance & practices. The fire challenge is for both commercial & residential segment.

Looking at the future Fire load vs. the Fire stations equipped with man & machines, it is difficult to say here that Thane city is safe in case of disaster. If Fire officers like other countries becomes one of the respected & important elements in our society then we can see terrific changes in disaster management.

I feel it is the need of hour that everyone should directly/indirectly contribute to make our society /city safer…greener…secure.

A disaster management cell comprises of various administrators, authorities, NGOs, experts, corporates may come together & initiate the plan of action to meet any calamity.

4. Any inputs you would like to give for Thaneweb.com?
Thaneweb is very useful & handy portal for thaneites. It is also well designed & easy to navigate for visitors. I wish if this can become a real social portal & act as a mouthpiece for every thaneites.
