The promoters who were initially settled abroad wanted to start something good and constructive in India, this is how Alok was born. Alok came into existence on 3rd November 1986, Shri Bala Saheb Thackarey inaugurated it and the guest of honor was Mr. Satish Pradhan the then former Mayor of Thane & the Late Mr Anand Dighe.

The man leading the team is non other than Mr. Gopal Naik. Mr. Gopal Naik- who has now dipped his fingers into Computers. Above the Landmark 'Alok Restaurant' he has started 'Alok InfoTech', they are Franchisees for IIHT (Indian Institute of Hardware Technology Ltd.) Headquartered in Bangalore.

Mr. Gopal Naik, strongy believes that they don't have to promise or guarantee their students-Jobs. He firmly believes, that when they are armed with the knowledge and Hands-On practical training, this experience along with a 90% attendance and deserving 75% marks," jobs come to them".


Alok has a very dedicated staff, and they give first preference towards the quality of the food products. Over here all the food products are kept ready, so when any customer ask for a certain dish they are not disappointed. Over here people can sit and enjoy themselves in a very homely atmosphere hot and good quality Vegetarian foodstuff.


Alok is situated approx 1 min away from the station near the signal where Ambedkar Chowk & Gokhale Road meets. Alok occupies more than 3,000 sq feet where 200 people can be seated. In our Non A/C section more than 100 people can sit and comfortably enjoy themselves and nearly 80% in the A/C section.


Alok is famous because it's the point where people meet irrespective whether its business, marriage, engagement etc. Alok plays cupid in making two people meet, where they enjoy themselves at Alok. And later on their marriages are held over there & Mr. Gopal Naik who himself has attended more than 100 weddings. Here mouth watering Chinese, Punjabi, South Indian & Continental Dishes are served to people. Here we see that foodstuff is made nicely with a little variety in it so that people are awe struck by our dishes. We were the first to start Softee Ice Cream in Thane, which is enjoyed by the people.


We do not face much competition because we are situated near the station and we have a very good location with 3,000 sq feet near the station, which is very difficult to find.
