THANE: The Maharashtra State Electricity Board's (MSEB) parent body, Mahavitaran has now introduced an SMS system through which you can find out details of your electricity bill payment. This scheme could hopefully end the bill payment issues that several Thaneites face every month.
Thane city and its suburbs already face several power cuts, barring the planned load-shedding. This issue, coupled with power thefts has resulted in several residents getting abnormal electricity bill rates. Furthermore, customers sometimes would get bills that showed paid amounts (i.e. previous month bills would be shown as not paid and added to the current bill). To overcome the issue, the MSEB has introduced a number through which customers can find out their bill details by sending an SMS to the service provider number.
Mahavitaran has come up with several facilities for their customers in the last few months. After the success of facilities like a 24-hour customer service unit, a unit for solving customer complaints and a 24-hour bill payment service, the Mahavitaran has now come up with the SMS service.
To avail this service, customers should send an SMS by typing MHBILL, followed by a space, followed by their 12-digit customer service number and again space followed by four-digit billing unit number to 56300 or 56677 or 56365. Once the customer sends a request, they will receive details regarding their outstanding bill amount and its due date.
